New site, who this?

This blog post is now dead, checkout the new website progress page for the latest updates.

I made a new site!

I am completely redoing my site to make a more interactive experience. This page will be a live blog as I keep coming back to update it. Keep checking back for more updates!

TECH STACK

Goals

1. Make it interactive

I want the homepage to be interactive and show the latest post in a fun way. This should also serve as a way to show off my skills and what I can do. I have spent the last year or so activly working in React Fiber so it was an easy choice.

In the future I want to be able to transition people into other fun interactive experiences and not just blog posts.

2. Showcase my skills

I want to have a place where I can showcase my main skills. There are times where I dig really deep into a specific technology. Although I might not create a full project with it, I still want to show it off.

Developer

Showcase some of the projects I have worked on, both personal and professional. Anything that relates to my developer skills. There will be some overlap with the other sections, in particular the Maker section.

Maker

I love to create physical things. I have created consumer electronics, 3D printed things, and more. I plan for this section to be a workbench that has the physical things I have created placed on it as a fun way to show. The blog posts will be more in depth about the process and how I made it.

Photographer

I love photography and want to showcase some of my favorite photos / shots I have done. I am more amateur in this area but I still want to show it off. I will probably have a section that looks like an art gallery and the photos will be hung up on the wall.

3. Keep myself engaged and learning

I think it is important to keep learning and growing. I am using this site as a way to experiment and show off some of the things I am learning. I might have some failed / half projects, but i think it is important to show that I am trying new things and learning.
